This policy explains what the Woof: Dog Translator & Talk app does with your data. The app is made and published by Dolzhenko Dev. The date of this revision is shown above, and it describes the version of the app you can install today.
The short version: the app has no servers of its own, and nothing you record, photograph or type inside it leaves your device.
What the app does not do
There are no user accounts. The app does not ask for your name, your email address or your phone number, and there is nothing to sign up for or log into.
There is no advertising in the app, no advertising network and no analytics service. The app does not track you across other apps or websites, does not collect an advertising identifier, and does not ask for permission to track, because it has nothing to track you with.
The app does not read your contacts, your calendar, your location or your files.
The microphone
The app asks for microphone access when you record your dog. The recording is written to the app's own storage on your device and stays there: it is not uploaded, not sent to us and not sent to anyone else.
The recording is not analysed. No speech recognition is applied to it, and it is not sent anywhere for processing. The reply you hear or read is picked by the app from material that ships inside it — see the Terms of Use for what that means in practice.
You can refuse microphone access, and you can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. The rest of the app keeps working without it.
Photos
If you choose a photo for your dog's profile, the app asks for access to your photo library and receives only the single picture you select. It is kept on your device and is not uploaded anywhere.
Access can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
What is stored on the device
Everything the app keeps lives in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad: your dog's profile (name, photo, breed, age, sex, size, temperament and interests), your recordings together with the replies generated for them, the lessons you opened recently, how much of the free whistle and clicker allowance you have used, the interface language, and whether you have finished the intro screens.
None of this is copied to us. We keep no database of users, which means there is nothing on our side to store, to retain for a period, or to delete.
Third-party services
Two companies are involved, and only in connection with purchases.
RevenueCat processes subscriptions and tells the app whether yours is active. It receives an anonymous identifier that it generates for your installation, the country and language of your device, the App Store transaction data for a purchase, and the Apple Search Ads attribution token that iOS provides when the app was installed from an advert. It does not receive your recordings, your photos or your dog's profile. We see this purchase data in RevenueCat in aggregate — how many subscriptions were started, renewed or cancelled — which is why the App Store privacy card lists purchases and that anonymous identifier as used for app functionality and analytics. Their policy: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Apple processes the payment itself, issues the receipt and manages renewals and refunds. What Apple does with that data is governed by Apple's own policy: Apple Privacy Policy.
Each of these companies is bound to protect your data to a standard no lower than the one described in this policy. The same applies to any contractor working on our behalf: they may act only on our instructions, may not use your data for their own purposes, and are required to follow this policy.
No other service is used. If one is ever added, this section and the App Privacy card on the App Store page will be updated before it starts working.
Your control
Recordings and the replies made for them can be deleted inside the app, one at a time or all at once. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device, including your dog's profile and every recording.
Because nothing reaches us, we hold no copy of your data to delete. What does exist outside your device is the purchase record held by RevenueCat and by Apple. To have the RevenueCat record removed, write to support@dolzhenkodev.com from an address we can reply to and say which purchase it concerns; we will pass the request on. Apple's own record of a purchase is governed by Apple's policy and by the law on financial records.
A subscription is managed and cancelled in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, not in the app.
When we have to disclose
We may disclose data if the law requires it — a court order, a demand from a state authority or a comparable procedure.
We may also disclose it in good faith where that is necessary to protect our rights or property, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to protect the personal safety of a user or of the public.
In practice this is close to theoretical: we hold nothing about you except what is described in the section on third-party services.
Security
Your data is kept in the app's storage on your device and is protected by the same iOS mechanisms that protect the rest of your device — a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and disk encryption.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute protection. What we can promise is that we do not increase the risk: the data is not copied to a server of ours, because we have none.
Children
The app is not directed at children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. As the app collects nothing at all, there is nothing that could be collected from a child either.
We do not address advertising or offers to children. If you are a parent or a guardian and you believe a child has provided personal data, write to support@dolzhenkodev.com and we will delete it immediately.
Changes and consent
This policy may be updated — because the app changes, or because the rules do. The revision date at the top of the page always shows when it last changed, and the current version is the one published here.
By using the app you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with it, do not use the app; deleting it removes everything it stored.
