By installing Baby Translator you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.

What this app is

Baby Translator is a supporting tool for parents: a sleep and feeding diary, a calendar of developmental milestones, a selection of sounds and reference articles. The app helps you keep track of observations and give the day some structure.

What it is not

This app is an entertainment and general-information app, not a medical one. It provides no medical services, makes no diagnosis and does not replace a consultation with a doctor. The cry analysis, the assistant's answers and the articles are for general information only. Make decisions about your child's health together with a doctor.

If you see anything that worries you about your child, contact a doctor. Do not rely on this app in an urgent situation.

How the cry analysis works

The app analyses the recorded sound and takes into account what it knows about your child: age, time of day and your own diary entries. The likely reason is worked out automatically. It is not a model trained on infant crying, it is not a medical device, and it makes no diagnosis.

The percentage shown is a way of presenting that hint, not a measured probability and not a clinical assessment. It says how confident the hint is and nothing about your child's condition. Treat the result as a prompt to check the obvious things, never as a conclusion.

Subscription

Part of what the app offers is opened by a subscription. The price, the period and what is included are shown on the purchase screen before you pay, and the charge goes through your Apple ID. The subscription renews itself until you cancel it — that is done in the Apple ID settings, at least a day before the paid period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

Your data

The entries you make stay on your device. You are responsible for keeping them: the app makes no backups.

Rights to the app

The app, its design, its texts, its sounds and its name belong to the developer. What you get is a personal right to use it on your own devices, and nothing beyond that. Copying the app, taking it apart, extracting its source code, reworking it or releasing something of your own based on it is not allowed.

Your device and your connection

Keeping the device and access to it safe is on you. The app works without the internet, but some things need it — purchases and restoring a subscription — and the traffic, roaming included, is billed by your carrier at their rates. On a device with the system's restrictions removed the app may work incorrectly, and we cannot answer for that.

Limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”. The developer is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of the app’s hints, nor for the consequences of such decisions.

Updates and discontinuation

The app is updated, and in time older versions may stop working: the one we support is the current one. We may change what the app can do, and one day may stop releasing it altogether — in that case the right to use it ends, while your entries stay with you. It is worth exporting them in advance; the file is made in one go.

Changes

The terms may be updated along with app versions. The current text is always in this section and on the official site, where the page carries the date of the last change. By continuing to use the app after a change, you accept the new version.
